Aleph Part 2

Been along time coming! Additional parts going up by-weekly,

Dasyu: The second skirmish unit available to Aleph.  The Dasyu has the same stats as the Naga except for and that's a PH of 13 (Dasyu has been hitting the weights). Every other stat is the same as the Naga with CC 13 BS 12 WIP 14 ARM 1 BTS 0 W 1. They might look the same as the Naga in the stat range but unit is a whole other different beast. The Dasyu trades out the regular camo for TO camo and replaces V: Dogged with V: NWI. This makes the Dasyu one of the most survivable skirmishers in the game and the only other unit that could compete with the Dasyu is the Naga and the Daofei (infiltrating HI) from Yu Jing. The Dasyu also packs a nasty little surprise and that would be the nanopulser. This gives him the ability to strike from his TO camo and not roll to hit anything as the nanopulser is a direct template weapon. That's not only weapon options he comes with as the Dasyu has a wide selection of killing tools and other goodies from a combi rilfe/mine load out, Boarding shotgun/mines, Multi sniper rifle, hacker, FO, and a Lt load out. All these options give you the ability to use him in the usual way that other skirmishers are used and pull all the nasty tricks available to you.

Now one interesting way to field your Dasyu is in the form of a Lt. Now I warn though as the Dasyu's Lt. load out will cost you 2 SWC. However it gives you a Lt that you can hide as no other Aleph Lt. options has camo that lets you hide as a marker. I will also warn that you can't hide the Dasyu Lt. in hidden deployment as it will cause you to be in LoL right from the get go. Also I advise that you downgrade his TO camo to regular camo. It makes him look like a Naga to your opponent and a Naga can't be a Lt. and hey if you have a Naga in your force it makes it even more confusing to your opponent (and more fun for you)!Someone on the main Infinity forums calls the Dasyu Lt. Aleph's Inquisitor and I couldn't agree more!

In all  keep the Dasyu mobile, invisible, and strike from the shadows. When not running the Lt. option you have the ability to go totally invisible using hidden deployment and can literally strike out of no where. Also with NWI he basically has 2 wounds. Keep in mind though that though that he has NWI you want to keep the Dasyu mobile and invisible as long as you can. When you get to the optimal position strike from the shadows (camo attack) and bring down your target without the target fighting back. That's what he does best is pick off prime targets or vulnerable ones (he's like Aleph's ninja). The Dasyu however does come with some downsides like any body else. He's pricey (35-48 point range) and can take up a big portion of your points if you're fielding him with other expensive units. He is also prone to being cut off from the rest of your forces due to infiltration and this leaves him vulnerable.

Sophotects: The best doc and engineer you could ever hope for! The Sophotect come out swinging with CC 13 BS 11 PH 11 WIP 15 ARM 2 BTS 0 W 1. Now I know that doesn't look impressive but you have to remember that this girl is a doc/engineer and not a front line unit. I will say one thing though is that this lady can haul ass across the battlefield with a 6-4 MOV (she can keep pace with blondy!). She only comes with one load out and that being a combi and some d-charges. She does also however come with NWI so she's a very tough lady and being a doc she can try to heal herself but lets hope we don't fudge that WIP 15 roll.

The Sophotect is the premier support unit of Aleph. She can fix everything up from Achilles, the Marut, to the lowly Dakinis. When you pair her up with 2 yudbots she can literally be every where at once. When you pair her up with Achilles you can keep the man sized TAG operating in perfect condition. You don't have to worry about ADHL guns gluing him down or E/M weapons shutting his suit/ODD down any more when you have a Sophotect to boot. When he goes down to enemy fire you can get in there and fix him up or send one of her yudbots to do the job. Now the only real drawback to the Soph is her price tag. You going to have to pay for what you get with the doc and engineer combo and that going to cost you 31 points. This paired with Aleph being a faction of elite units can be a tough fit for some lists.

And It Burns! Part 2

Battle Transmission 143
ISS Force Bravo
Com Log Archive

[Entries 1-7]

Entry 1: ISS Force Bravo is on site at the alien beacon. Beginning force deployment towards the consoles. No enemy contact at this... scratch that we have spotted an unknown hostile force.

Entry 2: Hostile force identified as Combined Army. We have launched recovery teams to grab the alien data sooner then expected. However, expected eta to be back on base will be 40 minutes as the Combined Army is to far out from our position to engage.

Entry 3: We have come under heavy fire from the MAF. They were undetected before by our scanners and they seem to have slipped into our deployment zone. Sun Tze however had come prepared and we only expect a 10% causality rating.

Entry 4: Corrupted [Back-up Offline]

Entry 5: Corrupted [Back-up Offline]

Entry 6: Causalities are at 75%! The Morat forces just won't stop. We've projected them to be at a 90% causalities but they don't seem to care. The data is in their hands and my fire team moving in to intercept. Will update as soon as we retrieve the data.

Entry 7: Exterior Microphone [translated] "It's funny that you still think you can win humans. We have crushed you beneath our boot heel and your forces have turned tail and fled. They left you here to die or take back a message I presume. Well... here's my message. [Sound of gun shot and Com Log feed is offline]
