Yeah you heard that right new Infinity models are up.

I'm a Aleph player so I'm happy to see the Spitfire Myrm but man that Zouaves and Jotum are killing it!

WHY!?

So my Asura w/Spitfire decided she would fall apart for the fifth time and I'm over it! So she gets to be my test subject for battle marks like scars, scratches, and bullet marks. Plus I'm picking up one new, already assembled, from a local.

Aleph Part 1.5

Marut: What can I say! She's just a beast of a TAG. This is the only TAG in Aleph's arsenal but it's probably the only one they need. The Marut comes hitting like a tone of bricks with CC 18 BS 15 PH 17 WIP 15 ARM 8 BTS -9 STR 3. You can only take one but that's all you'll really need. Now she comes in two options: The Lt. with Multi HMG/ Heavy Flamethrower or Regular with Multi HMG/ HGL. I would suggest taking her as your Lt. for others reasons but one would have to be Strategos L3. This little niffty ability allows you to make your opponent (bearing he doesn't have a Lt. with Strategos L2 or 3) to deploy all his models on to the table. But Strategos doesn't do just that it also allows you to hold back 2 models instead of just one as well giving you the ability to use your Lt. order on anyone in your list.

Now she's not the only TAG with this ability, the Avatar has it as well when a Lt., but what other TAG has a MSV2. What was that? Yeah, she's the only TAG with that. This allows you to punish anything trying to use camo or things like ODD or mimetism. Match that up with BS 15 and the Multi HMG and you can put a world of hurt on a lot of stuff. She's also a tough nut to crack as well with ARM 8 and STR 3 this means the other guy is going to send his hard hitting stuff after the Marut, so be prepared. The Marut isn't without its drawback either. The Major one would have to be how much see costs and it's a lot (122 for Lt. and 126 for Regular) plus she takes up 3 SWC as well.

Naga: The first type of skirmishers Aleph as has access to. These guys come in with some fairly even stats with CC 13 BS 12 PH 12 WIP 14 ARM 1 BTS 0 AVA 2. Now these your aggressive raiders and there abilities show for that with dogged and camo. These guys also come with a crap load of options: Combi, Anti personal mines, Combi, mono mines (nasty little things), Multi Sniper Rifle, (Minelayer) Boarding Shotgun, Anti personal mines, Hacker. All these option make the Naga very versatile as it can be your combat hacker, board controler, or general harassment or LI killing model.

I would like to say don't be afraid to be aggressive with these guys! There pretty much built for getting into your opponents face and give him a new makeover. With dogged there's new worries of a lucky hit taking out your Naga but you have to keep pumping orders into him to keep him alive. So you better make who ever hit your Naga pay and maybe others if you have some orders left. With camo you can also get the jump on people but watch out for MSV carrying models. They can also be great support units as well especially the Multi Sniper Rifle version  plus she makes a nasty surprise when she fist pops out of camo. Now the downsides would have to be the low armor but sticking to cover should help cover that also there not the greatest on your reactive turn since if they get hit they can't use their dogged (active phase only) ability.

Told ya I'd be back.

After a break (6 months) I have returned!

Now on to some infinity business here. I'm plan on attending a tournament coming up in the last part of March but I can't decide on what list I should take.

This list however I have not used before so I'll have to learn as I go. I like this list because it has a lot of threats in it. Also the Doc might see a lot of action depending on what happens. Also I have a little insurance plan in place in case my Lt. get knocked out and that takes the form of the Mrym Officer. The Myrm officer is also carrying around zero-v smoke grenades so suck on that MSVs!

Break

Sorry I haven't been posting is such a long time. I promised a Aleph part 2 but I could never get around to it and I might just take a break from the blog but I'll be back in due time.

Also the new infinity releases are the bomb! Go check them out over at infinitythegame.com

The Sphinx has to be my fav. out of the whole month.

My top 10

I thought I would post about something a little different before I go on with Aleph: part 2 and that would be my top 10 infinity figures. Corvus Belli make some fantastic miniatures and are all winners in my book but some just really stand out at me. These are in no particular order.

Knights of Santiago

Something about knights in space... What can I say its a recurring thing that always gets me. I really like the details on this mini like the cross visor, the strap going across his chest, his robe. Also the pose just looks like his barreling down the corridor of the ship and rounding a corner looking for something to kill.

Ghulam Infantry

The first LI in my top 10 the Ghulam infantry. I like the ones from the Haqqislam starter set because each on brings there own personalty to the table. There all posed nicely with one in "sassy" pose while another is in "time to die by the knife" pose. The details on these guys is also great with the one going for a snake eater look while another has some pretty boy action going on and there combat suits are nice as well from the pouches to the boots.

Hellcats

There Nomad scum but they are some kick ass models. I like how they seem to just of "landed" on the battlefield type of poses on all of them. The details on the hellcats sticks out on them from the creepy helmets to the hoses running along there shoulders and the weird type of padding they seem to be wearing as well. Also that ADHL is all kinds of cool.

5th Minutemen

While the pose may be a little weird its all about the detail for me here. I really like the bullet sleeves on her shoulder guard as well as the neck guard to help guard against any rounds reflecting of the front chest piece upwards. The chest guard neat as well as what it seems to be a tessuem front piece but has padding (Kevlar?) surrounding the sides. Plus she's showing some skin which is always nice and you get to admire that panzerfuast she seems to having trouble holding up.

Myrmidons
Greeks! What more can I say about them. They all have fantastic poses all with there own thing going on. I really like the cybernetic optic looking muscles they have plus they got some guns on them as well, no pun intended. The swords are also very nice looking and seem to try to go for historic look but with a sci-fi twist to them. It seems these guys are ready to tear it it up!

Yaogats

The Yaogats are some of my favorite CA models. One they have those awesome looking helmets and all the cool gear there carrying around from panzerfausts, combi's, a spitefire, multi sniper rifle, and boarding shotgun. They bring a thugish feel to them when I look at them with the unemotional faces and the poses as well. They are after all designated thugs by 0-12.

Shang Jí Invincibles

The HI is the one of the top things for me in this game and the Shang Jí is no exception. The model just looks like he can rip you head off and chuck it the length of a football field. What I like the most if the tiny armor details from the over lapping plates on his head to the synthetic wires covering up his joints. That gun: Under slung light flamethrower are awesome is real life but in Infinity they are just as cool and as deadly.

Senor Massacre

“Stand there on the floor and blood, pendejo. You are no more than a mere punching bag to me. I am Señor Massacre and this fight ends right now” Hey it's Deadpo... I mean Senor Massacre. This guy is what you think of when you say commando, double CC weapons, awesome looking armor, ammo pouches and straps (lots), and that killer look and Senor Massacre has them all.

Marut

4 arms, multi-HMG, a big ass sword! That's the Marut for ya. Aleph's only TAG (if you don't count Achilles) and she's a monster on the table but also nice to look at as well. I like the look of the four arms as it gives her a interesting feel compared to the other TAGs in the game. Also the interesting gun she is holding with all those curvy and straight lines and I'm just talking about the gun here...

Moblots

That machine gunner looks like he's gonna' F U up! These Moblots are all awesome from the panzerfaust one to the simple rifle one. I like all the small details on them from the scarf thing covering there mouths to those spiffy glasses. Other things like bullet round sleeves on the rifle men's arm and the padding and armor on all of them. Plus these guys/gal are French but I guess some of you could care less and admire how bad ass they all look
