Infinity Hunger Games Showdown!

Wow, time flies when you hit the last couple of weeks of school. Well I'm back and with a vengeance!

Remember last post I told you all about the hunger games I participated in... well there was so much action in the game that it lead to so many memorable events and I'm here to show them to you in the form of a showdown! All the fun events that took place were basically 1v1 fights. So let's get the party started!

Run Achilles, run!

I just want us to be friends.

Go shove that friendship up your sepsitor!

The game started off great for Achilles... running from a sepsitor happy Skiavoros! The rules for the first round was that all weapons were offline so basically it was a maneuvering round. This lead to the Skia going after a juicy target, Achilles. The Skiavoros shuffled his way towards Achilles position behind a building but his 4-2 MOV was against him and had to stop in the ally leading to the back of the building where Achilles was. Luckily for Achilles there was another ally leading away from the Skia and he took off like a bullet away from the Skia. It looks like the Skia will have to find another person to befriend next round...

Shall we be frie.... uuuuhhhh!

Boo!

Shall we be friends?

Now the the combat turn begins... the Yu Jing player (Thunderpup) decided to make a false alliance with the CA player (Zachilles) and it turned out to be a bad idea for the CA player. The Yu Jing player was down to his last troop and the Skia was looking like a juicy target for his TO marker to get up close and personal with. Well it turned out to be Saito Togan popping out of TO! The first attack by Saito caused one wound on the Skia and the next attack by Saito was meet with a sepsitor after Saito got his hit in CC. The Skia made the armor save but the Skia failed the sepstior attack. Last attack by Saito ended the friendly Skia's friendship run.

Still here!

Hehe, I think I forgot about this blog. Nah, I kid. I've been busy with school as of late and it's caused me to have a big lack of Infinity as of late. I did get in a fun multiplier game though at the end of November. It was called Infinity: Hunger Games.

Basically you got the option of bringing 3 models max at 75 pts and 1.5 SWC. I choose to run with the new Achilles profile (ARM 5) with his trusty Heavy Shotgun. It turned out that he was a crit magnet that game. He got critted by a Lasiq. Had his hair and ODD burned off by a Chassuer twice! Then not wanting to live without any hair he let a Riot Grrl crit him on a 6... he did kill Yu Jing Monk at the end of the day.

I had a great time and the events that took place in that game were beyond funny.

Hammer time!

Did I say it's a great time to be an Aleph player last post... well here's another reason it just got even better. Just take a look at this beast! The armor, the face, the fucking hammer! Oh and did I mention his stats too?

AJAX 2 Combi Rifles, Nanopulser / Pistol, EXP CCW (43 | 0.5)
MOV:4-4 CC:18 BS:13 PH:16 WIP:12 ARM:5 BTS:-6 W:2
Regular, Impetuous, Cube 2.0, Fireteam: Enomotarchos
Berserk, Natural Born Warrior, V: No Wound Incapacitation

He might not have a long range threat but if you incounter him in a room or ally you can count yourself as already dead. The beast (he's no man) is hitting you with CC 27 (Berserk FTW) with a EXP CCW and CC units won't be getting close to engage him either thanks to NBW. So Fidays, Oniwabans (Shinobu included), Speculo Killers, all the hero/TAG killers you better hit him and hope he dies because he'll turn you into a red stain on the wall. Now if he shoots he's sending 4 combi shots down range as well. It's like a Spitfire with less damage and range...

Now I don't suggest you make him hunt for camo or be your Lt. He's got the same WIP that a PanO Fusilier does.

Steel Phalanx!

I'll keep this post short and pretty.

Wow. It's a really great time to be a Aleph player! Just take a look at this set and these badass greeks.

So what do we get here:

Eudoro: The character of the set that seems to be projecting Arnold. Cool thing about him is he comes with the ability called Number 2. That means if the link leader goes down he automatically becomes the link leader. It's like CoC for link teams. Also add on a Mk12! Finally some hitting power for Aleph.

Thorakitia: These are the SP's grunts. However there not LI there MI with ARM 3 and they're cheap! However they a MOV of 4-2, Frenzy, and are the first Aleph troops not to have any form of Courage. They do come with 360 visors and flash grenades on almost every load out though. The set includes ones with a chainrifle/smg, Combi rifle, and a LRL.

Agema: Chest bump! The Agema brings the pain with the ML and a MSV2. Smoke tricks anyone? This is the first time Aleph really has any armor killing power that's not a TAG.

Myrmidon Hacker: Not much to explain more then it's a Myrm hacker.

Colorado Krug 2012 Bat-Rep #2

A little late okay very late so I apologize for that. So here it is, Bat-Rep #2 from the Colorado Krug. In this game I played another New Mexico player that being Magno. Some of you'll will recognize that name as he's been on the forum since forever and is a true Infinity Veteran.

Magno's List:

 SHASVASTII EXPED. FORCES
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

 GROUP 1 (Regs: 10/Irrs: 0):

ASWANG Lieutenant Combi Rifle, Adhesive Launcher / Pistol, Knife (25)

We've gathered Intel that a Shasvastii force is body snatching civilians and military personnel from the local area. It also seems that the Shasvastii have also infiltrated their Speculo Killers into the local police and military force so keep your eyes open and your side arm loaded.

Your're tasked with taking out the chain of command, killing there best troops, and specialists out there to limit there fighting capacity. You should know the force you've been assigned already as they'er the ones you commanded against the Haqqislam force.

This game I got defended (got stuck with deployment) instead of attacker and it was a fun change of pace. My main objective was to to kill the most expensive troop in Magno's list, his Lt. and specialists (if non are present killing the Lt. gives me 2 VP instead of one to make up for no specialists). Magno's was pretty much like mine last time, snatch up up my models.

So Magno won the WIP roll and elected to take initiative and that left me with deployment. I choose my deployment zone with the Marut in mind. Thus table had a lot of interior building and not a lot of cover in the streets so I choose the one building that could house the Marut and one she could exit if wanted to. I made Magno deploy first and Stategos L3 came in really handy for me here. The reason being is that he had two Impersonators, you heard that right, two!

So Magno's deployments had him set up two camo markers in the rear of his DZ hiding behind buildings. In the center right he set up his Gwailo right in the middle of the street with no cover (not like he needed it with that nanoscreen). He then set up his two Impersonators really close to where my Marut was going to go. He then set up a camo marker on my right flank in a building. The another maker right on left flank in another building. All his other models were hiding in hidden deployment thanks to there TO camo.

My deployment had me set up my Marut in the corner of a large room with both my Myrms in base to base with the Marut watching the two entrances and ready to engage the Speculo Killers. I set up my Mk.1 one close by the Marut as well ready to engage what ever came through both entrances leading to the Marut. The Mk.2 was set up in the building on my right flank in Hidden Deployment right where Magno's camo marker was. My Deva set up on the right flank as well on a corner of a building not far from a Speculo Killer. My Naga set up shop on the left flank in the same building as Magno's camo marker was as well.

First Turn:

The one Speculo closest to the Deva Spitfire charges up to him. He tried to discover but fail hard on my WIP role and the Speculo gets into CC with the Deva. The Deva surprisingly survives the ordeal but he can't land a hit on the Speculo as he failed his CC roll. The Speculo closest to my Marut now goes and tries to down her target: the Marut. However she has to go through my Mk.1 Engineer first and she plans on defending her LT to her last breath. The Speculo engages the the Mk.1 and put a wound on her however thanks to NWI she stays up. The nest shoot out see's the Mk.1 as the victor this time and downing the Speculo but thanks to moving away she ended up unconscious out of sight of my other troops.

Magno finished things off with moving his camo marker on my right flank and I activate my Mk.2 Proxy hacker and try to intercept dodge into the whatever alien scum it might be. The camo marker turns out to be a Shrouded and he shoots at my dodging Mk.2 and he gets 2 hits on her (lucky alien) but she makes one of the two ARM rolls and goes down to NWI. At this moment it would of been smart to auto fail my Guts Check but my attitude to kill the damn Shrouded got the better of me. The Shrouded engages my Proxy again and kills her. The Shrouded, after killing one of netrods, then retreats back into the center of the room and drops a mine down. Magno ends his last turn trying to get his downed Speculo up with the automedikit. However the Speculo fails hers/its roll and dies.

Second Turn:

My turn to act. The Speculo tying up my Deva Spitfire had to go. I spent about 4 orders total getting one of my bodyguard Myrms over to the Speculo. with the extra help of the Deva in CC (+3 to CC for every friendly model in it with the same model) my Myrmidon cut her down and my Deva finished up with a curb stomp. I then run my Myrm into the room with the Shrouded and as planned got a mine to the face and he got a chain rifle to his. Sadly the Shrouded didn't die to the attack but the mine was now gone. I then dropped down my Garuda right by the building.

My Garuda then proceeded to kill the Shrouded. Funny thing was it two two whole orders just to down it's seed embryo, that was a pain. That pretty much ended my turn there

Third Turn:

Pretty much the last turn of the game for me. Magno grabs all his Victory point by capturing some of my dead guys (Proxy Mk.2, Deva w/Spitfire, and my Gaurda). I got at least one VP as I killed his most expensive model that being a Malignos w/monomines after the damn thing came out of Hidden Deployment.

Overall:

Was a tough game but I enjoyed it as we were taking turn pretty much killing each others stuff. Next game had the funnest moments in it so stay tuned for that!

It's coming!

Just to give my self a dead line:

Colorado Krug Bat-Rep #2 will be up tomorrow! (I know it's late but it's better then nothing)

Bugger!

A quick post before I go to bed.

Got in a 300 point game with my MAF against a Nomad force and it was pretty damn fun even though I lost. We were playing YAMS (Yet Another Mission System) however we got caught up in the blood lust of the game and just went after each others throats.

Highlights of the game:

Rasyat w/Spitfire scarred the bloody piss out of the Nomad player when he hit the board. He downed a Mobile Brigada however the Brigada got healed back up and got his revenge on the Rasyat.

The Raicho (I proxied) got glued to the wall by a ADHL Prowler and I had no engineer (sad face).

Yaogat Link Team worked great as a defense unit. The boarding shotgun was the star of the show in the team. The team however was slowly picked off by the Nomads.

The Dats didn't do much in this game but die. One did clear room for the Rasyat to land however.

The dice were defiantly not on my side in this game however and it showed. I am getting better with MAF though and I can't wait to see what another winning game will look like and what I can take away from it. Here's to the hope for my second win with my MAF!

My MAF hate 150...

My MAF really hate playing at 150 I swear they do. I know I'm still trying to learn how they play and use there troops to the best abilities but damn do they just give me the finger when I put them down for a 150 game. I guess it doesn't help that my MAF are always out numbered by at least 4 or 5 guys (sometimes 10 if my opponent goes for a swarm list).

My rematch game wasn't really a rematch but a massacre. I was trying out a fun list for the game and it worked out okay.

The list I used:

 MORAT AGGRESION FORCES
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

 GROUP 1 (Regs: 5/Irrs: 0):

YAOGAT Lieutenant Combi Rifle, Panzerfaust / Pistol, CCW (31)
  2x YAOGAT MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, CCW (42 | 1.5)
KURGAT Boarding Shotgun, D-Charges, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife (20)
DĀTURAZI Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Shock CCW (14)

By I mean okay I actually killed some stuff well 2 things actually. Now the snipers did help pine down the Yu  Jing Imperial Service troops however since I deployed first I didn't get the side of the table that would of benefited my snipers and force better. I also deployed first so I was at a disadvantage setting up my snipers. I did try to re-position one of my snipers to take on a flanking remote (Lu-Duan). He had to climb a downed silo he was using for cover but he slipped and killed himself (we call it breaking a leg or ankle in our gaming group).

After that everything went to shit.

My 150 game with Aleph went a whole lot smoother. It also helped playing some scenarios as well. I had two and my opponent one (he got double VPs for every objective completed).

 ALEPH
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

 GROUP 1 (Regs: 8/Irrs: 0):

DEVA Lieutenant (G: Synchronized) Combi Rifle, Nanopulser+Devabot / Pistol, Knife (26)
DEVABOT Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse
DEVA (G: Synchronized) Combi Rifle, Nanopulser+Devabot / Pistol, Knife (27)
DEVABOT Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse
  DEVA (Multispectral Visor L2) Spitfire, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife (34 | 1)
DEVA Combi Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife (23)
2x MYRMIDON Chain Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW (16)
  2x NETROD Electric Pulse (4)

It literally game down to my Lt. being the last one on the table giving me the win. I was set into retreat first but my Aleph would get the last laugh. The last moments came down to my last Myrm getting stormed by a bunch of Galwegians and Wallace (link team). My Myrm in his last moments before turning into red mist nailed 3 Galwegians and Wallace under his nanopulser template. He killed the 3 and wounded Wallace effectively breaking the Link. Wallace then ran over to an objective however he did find it (a double agent was hiding among 3 civies). He then engaged my Devabot that was around the corner. My opponent made the mistake of firing at the Devabot and not my Deva that was hanging back at the other end of the building. My Devabot was pumped full of lead but the flames ate Wallace. My last turn my Deva ran back to the board edge and got hit by the Galwegian that didn't participate in the CC with the Myrm. I didn't make my ARM roll but thank Aleph for having lots of NWI troops! My Deva then got her revenge and secured me the game.

The last game of the day was a game of Dystopian Wars. It started off as a 3 fight between the Brits, French, and Russians but turned into a 2 way fight as the Brit player had to leave early. I played the French and to make a long story short a lot of stuff went boom and I mean boom!

Gaming Tomorrow.

So I'm getting in some games tomorrow of Infinity as well as my 3rd game of Dystopian Wars. I'll be bringing along my camera for some pics (I'll actually take some this time!).

Pretty much my Schedule for my gaming tomorrow in no certain order:

150 point game of Infinity (Rematch game) with MAF
150 point game of Infinity Aleph
Some point level of DW
300 point game of Infinity if time permits with MAF

An update on the Krug Bat-Rep #2. It's going slowely so I apologize for that but I finding it hard to get everything down all at once as it starts to become a chore. My goal is to have it out next weekend.

Sunday, August 19, 2012

Sorry... but here's something to cheer you up with!

Sorry I haven't been posting as of late. Life has come and it pretty much has taking up a good part of my time but don't fear I'll still be providing Infinity info as always!

Lets start here with this new video from bluetablepainting giving us a nice little preview from Gencon on some new units from the Campaign book:

A lot of exciting stuff in this video especially for us Aleph players like me with the Greek stuff here. It's not just all Aleph as you'll see. It has Tohaa, Ariadna, Yu Jing, Haqq, and CA stuff in it as well. Plus some really bad ass art!

Moving into the Morat Aggression Forces

So recently I've been proxying MAF with my Aleph models. This will probably turn into my second faction well because hell there a lot of fun to play and their right up my ally fluff and model wise! I mean it too. Take a look at these models.

Sogarat

Rasyat

Yaogats

Zerat

Daturazi Witch Soldiers

Kurgat

I'm not very good with them right now but with time I will be. Not like I was kicking ass and taking names with my Aleph right out of the gate...

So if you see some MAF stuff on here don't panic! You'll be probably be seeing a lot more of them in the times to come.

Oh and the 2nd bat-rep from the Krug will be up next week.

With a lack of picture I make up with this little story bit.

We've tracked a Haqqislam strike force moving into a near by town and seem to want to mark a PanO position for later operations. Your tasked with getting there and disrupting the Haqqislam plans.Your task to capture Haqqislam troops and ship them back to us so we can figure out what there next moves are. We've given you access to a Marut do to the severity of the operation. Also a Posthuamn is tagging along for technical support and info war.

We've also gained reports that Saladin is among the Haqqislam strike group and is leading it. He might be a recreation from Aleph however he won't flinch in killing our operatives. Dispose of him.

Now I lost the WIP roll so Dave elected Deployment making me set up first. I set up my Deva w/ Spitfire and a Myrm on my right flank. I also set up my Naga up on the right flank/center as well hiding behind a small shack up a little further from the Deva and Myrm. Then in the middle I set up my Marut behind a large building with a Myrm as well. Just a short distance away on the left flank in my Proxy Mk.1. I set up the Mk.2 hacker in a large courtyard/fountain area a little further up on the left flank. I bring down one rod on my left flank but it goes off the table. The next makes it down on my right flank behind a container.

Dave set up with his Muyib Doctor and Azra'il behind a container in the middle of his DZ. To my far my right he sets up two Saladins (ones a Hafza) and a Djanbazan Sniper on top of a gazebo. The nazamt is hiding in the gazebo too. To my left he sets up a Djanbazan HMG in the second floor, peeking out of a window, of a building. He then puts his Fiday up a little close to the courtyard like area where my Mk.2 is.

Now we had missions with this tourney as well to keep everything from being a slaughter fest. My mission was to capture Dave's troops by either killing them in CC or put them into the unconscious state and then coupe de grace them to get the troop to capture them as well.

Turn 1

Well first order of business was for me to get rid of the Djanbazan sniper on my right flank to make room for my Garuda come down unharmed. Well I set my Marut up for the task. She goes and engages the Djanbazan sniper. It so happens the Djanbazan crits my Marut. Well this going well, I tell myself. Hoping to not get critted again I fire again and this time the Djanbazan doesn't crit and I hit and he turns into pink mist.

I then drop in my Garuda with AD2 and land right outside Dave's DZ just out of sight of the Muyib doc. My plan here was to get rid of Saladin and set him up in a LoL situation. Well I move to engage one of the Saladins. Now there's two, one behind the gazebo and one at the corner of the building just left of the gazebo. I move the Garuda up to the Gazebo and engage the one at the corner of the building. it turns out to be the Hafza. The Garuda makes quick work of him with the HMG. A little Nazmat tries and dodge out of the way of the Garuda but fails but it doesn't matter as it's not my target. I then move the Garuda up to the end of the gazebo to now face down the real Saladin. Saladin nanopulses the Garuda as the Garuda shoots at Saladin. Only 2 shoots hit and Saladin makes both ARM saves however the Garuda doesn't make it's BTS roll. Saladin retreats around the other side of the gazebo.

This then sets up Saladin to get ambushed by my Naga by the shake. I combat camo attack Saladin and score two hits and he then proceeds to fail both. I then re camo my Naga and move my Marut back around to get total cover from the large building it's behind.

Dave now in LoL moves his Fiday over to the courtyard and lays down some thing for his mission. I then ARO with my Proxy Mk.2 for the proxy to jump into it. Dave then shoots with the Fiday's Light Shotgun causing one wound to my Mk.2. he then decides to charge into CC. I hit him with the nanopulser but he makes his BTS save and the Proxy Mk.2 survives the CC strike from the Fiday.

Turn 2

I'm pretty much in total control of the game now. I decide to take on the Djanbazan HMG with my Marut. Well this Djanbazan also crits my poor Marut this time. I'm pretty sure the Marut was pisses now. I shot again and Dave's not feeling to lucky now and decides to dodge with the Djanbazan. My Marut fails all her BS rolls and Dave's Djanbazan fails his dodge. Well I try again shooting the Djanbazan and he decides to doge again. I finally hit once and Dave fails his PH roll again for the dodge. The Djanbazan then goes down from the one shoot that made it through. I then run my Proxy Mk.1 Engineer towards the Marut to patch up the two crits. She makes both WIP rolls and the Marut is back up to full STR of 3. I move my Mk.1 back into cover for Dave's
Dave finally drops in his Ragik, thanks to it being Religious can do so in LoL, behind my Deva and Myrm however he disperses off to the side and spends an order to keep him on the table. He lands in the plain view of the Deva that shoots and causes a wound to the Ragik. However the Ragik is dogged so he keeps going as long as he has orders to give him and will die when his turn ends or stops spending orders on him. Dave then unloads his HMG into the Deva that retaliates back but to no success and suffers two wounds however since Dave now has no orders to spend the Ragik flops over unconscious.

Turn 3

My turn I decide to go grab the Ragik with my Myrm and capture him. I then proceed to go on a killing spree with my Naga. I first combat camo attack a Muyib and down it. I then race over out into the open to engage the Azra'il. We exchange rifle fire and the Azra'il takes one wound from the exchange. The Naga and Azra'il go at it again however this time the Naga gets hit but thanks to dogged can keep going. Exchange fire again and I get 2 hits on the Azra'il that makes both ARM saves and decides to fail his guts check to get to total cover. I sic my Naga after him. I can see the Azra'il through a tiny window and shoot at him. I critted him and got a regular shot that his armor doesn't save so he passes straight to dead. I then run over and caputre the Muyib and then go and engage the hacker and the Kameel that the Naga both downs with no problem (hacker had his back turned to the Naga and the Kameel tried to dodge on a 2). With me out of orders the Naga finally falls over dead with his duty done.

Dave only has the Fiday and HMG Djanbazan left that's unconsious that's tuck in CC with the Mk.2. He quickly gets rid of the Mk.2 that was in NWI. I didn't ARO into CC with my Marut because I was afraid of hitting the Mk.2 in CC. Dave then tried to bring back the HMG Djanbazan with regeneration but fails the PH roll and the Djanbazan passes to dead. With his last order Dave moves and dodges out of the away of the Marut however he fails his PH roll so he's staying put.

Turn 4

Marut shoots at the Fiday and the Fiday tries to dodge but 2 of my rolls are better then his dodge and the Fiday turns into pink mist.

Final thoughts:

That game pretty much was me after the first turn after I took out Saladin. The VP score ended up being 2 (me) to 1 (Dave). It was a close game even though I tabled Dave.

Colorado Krug 2012

A little late and lacking pics so I'm sorry about that.

So the krug was fun! I didn't take first but I did come in the middle of the pack in 6th. Hey I was there to get in some games of Infinity and have some fun the tourney placement was just a add on to me. Also we had three guys come up from New Mexico to join us and I thank them very much for coming up and gaming with us fools. I would also like to thank my opponents for some fun games.

I ran this list and it did pretty well for me.

 ALEPH

I can give you some MVPs from my list here. First would be my Proxy Mk.1 Engineer as she did a lot more then just fix up the Marut through out the tourney. The second would have to be the Garuda for being my back pocket trick and killing a lot of shit and then kicked the can but that was expected. The last would have to be the Myrmidons being fine VIP security for the Marut in one scary moment of one game and dealing out lots of pain themselves. The other models did there jobs perfectly (well maybe not for the poor Proxy Mk.2 Hacker) and they didn't under perform for me in anyway.

Now I'll be posting up the bat-reps through out the week so stay tuned in for those and get ready to here some crazy stuff.

As for pics I only got one from the whole tourney. Sorry I got distracted by the whole tourney in general but I did get one and it was the table I played the second game on and you'll get a look at it when I post that bat-rep up.

Update 7/2

Sorry that I've been lack luster on posting. I didn't have much to post about in June, well maybe the new Infinity releases, but July will be different.

First off I have a big tourney next week, the Colorado Krug. Should be a good time as now I have more experience with Infinity now. I hope I get a game in against last years winner as well as he's also one of my opponents I play with a lot. Also the Krug is fantastically run by BlueDagger (forum name at Infinity's US forum) so that's also a great plus as well and it's also closer to me this year then it was last time. I'll see if I can get some pics as well for you all to look at.

Also I'm going to be starting up on some terrain soon. I'm thinking something shanty townish...

I know I promised some bat-reps from forever a go but since it's been that long I don't remember a whole lot so sorry about that.

Balls to the Wall!

Well just got done giving a new comer to Infinity his second game. It was fun on both sides as crits were being handed out like candy that game by both of us.

Now this post isn't a Batrep or anything of the game it's just like a "learning" post. It mainly deals with Myrmidons.

Myrmidons:

I've learned by now I either go balls out with these Greek fellows or they sit around and do nothing or try to do something. I get better mileage out of them in the latter. When I go balls out I don't mean I blatantly charge them up the middle or sides of the board as that's a good way for them to get picked off. You have to play smart with them like with anything else in Infinity.

Now I've been learning that Myrms make great support units when used right with a MSV2 or 3 carrier because they have smoke. Now they also make great shock troops as they can get across the battlefield in relative ease thanks to ODD. Then that lets you set up a nice shot with whatever weapon then have. Now I've been moving my Myrms more aggressively then I usually do and it's been paying off as they get into better range for their ranged weapons as well as the ability to enter CC. Now CC isn't the golden ticket in Infinity but it does have it uses though. One being able to wounds stuff that hard to wound with ranged weapons. An example would be any kind of HI. Now it's best to attack one that down to there second wound if you have a AP CCW. Now if your carrying a EXP CCW it's not a bad idea to go balls out on a HI with it's 2 wounds still up. What this does is that it makes it easier for you to remove that HI more easily then it would shooting at it. With the benefits of MA:3 you get to hit the HI unopposed in CC so then it's all down to the dice. The trick to this though is getting into CC without getting shot to bits. Well a simple way is to throw smoke near the target model but not at it. Example. A Myrms around a corner but there's a Wu Ming on the other side it's best to throw the smoke out a ways passed the corner if it hits it then will cover up the Wu Ming letting you enter CC with out getting shot. Now that's if you can get into a position to do that. If you face to face against something like a HI it would either be your best bet to hug cover and shoot at it or drop smoke at you feet and use that to plan another way to get to the HI.

So I'm learning that aggressive play with the Myrms makes them more usable to me then just smoke throwers. They can be my shock troopers getting up close and personnel with other models in the game.

May Infinity Models

May releases have finally made there way to light from CB. Lets take a look at them shall we!

Mulebots

First up we got the dung beetle remotes! Nah, I kid, I kid. These suckers are kind of cute really but you didn't hear that from me. I really like how there kind of big and bubbly and that lets them stand out from the other baggage bots from the other factions. I do like the EVO repeater as well. He's rocking those EVO antenna like a champ!

Dozer w/Traktor control device

Now this is a cool model. I really enjoy Ariadna's grungy look and the Dozer just exemplifies it!I love all the gear he got on him from that helmet, goggles, back back, vest, Traktor control device (looks like a laptop), and his bandanna. You also have to love the skull face painted on his bandanna by Angel.

 Malignos Hacker

Hmmm.... I'm digging that hacker arm and all but those hacker goggles on him make him look a little funny. Well he is alien after all so it should look funny to us. Over all I like it but it wouldn't be my first if I was doing a Shavastii force.

Nomad Support Pack

A nice little addition to your force if you don't have the clockmaster or the the Zondbots yet. However the star here is the Daktari resculpt. It's a huge improvement over the last one! No more weird furry looking doc but one that looks a little more human and it looks like she's in a hurry to get to that fallen warrior.

Devas + Devabots

Saved the best for last. I can tell you I'm really excited for these models. We Aleph players have been waiting for these for a long time and all that time has payed off I tell ya! I like the look of both Devas as well as the bots. However some people don't seem to like the nanopulser arm of the male Deva. I could care less about it as it doesn't distract me from the rest of the model. The Devabots look exactly how they looked like in that little art blip in the Human Sphere book, cool!

Sunday Game highlights

Got 3 fun games in on last Sunday.

We played using these scenarios: http://www.infinitythegame.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=5326

We played Offensive and Defensive maneuvers first then Kidnapping, last was Sabotage/Demolitions.

I played the first game with my Aleph then I used a proxy Morat Aggression force for the other two.

How the games went

Offensive Defensive Maneuvers. Ariadna vs Aleph: Tie
Kidnapping. Ariadna vs MAF: Lost
Sabotage/Demolitions. Ariadna vs MAF: Lost

Highlights:

-Van Zant swooping into my back field and proceeds to take out my Asura through a combination of AP Rifle shots and CC.
-The Ariadna troops trying to uproot Achilles and one of his Myrms from a building. It ended with a lot of Ariadians dying.
-Van Zant a 4 man group of Para-commandos come into my back field and tear into my Yaogat link team. Van Zant is then later blown apart by two Panzerfaust shots.
-The Sogarat then gets in on the action and proceeds to drop all the Para-commandos to either dead or unconscious. He was later then blown up by a Autocannon.
-The last game I bring in my Rasyat using AD2 and walk him up to discover a mine then to shoot at it. Then lay down some Zero-V smoke in front of him as well as the demolition target. That gave me a clear path to get to it with out getting shot up by a Para-Commando with a HMG on top of a building across the table. the game was at 2 to 1 and all I needed was for this thing to blow up. My oppenent then rolls the 2 out of 3 ARM rolls. I lost by only 1 VP!

Infinity: 4v4 Data Complex Game

Played in a recent multiplayer game. It was loads of fun even though my team lost.

What I learned:

-Don't sand bag (wait around) to long because things go to hell really fast.
-Try to use Achilles more aggressively. I had him going around getting objectives but that didn't help use in the end. So next time I'll bring a Myrm Officer with CoC (Chain of Command) so I don't have to worry about Achilles being my aggressive Lt.
-Bring a doctor. My team could of really benefited if I or anyone else brought a doctor or some with a medkit.
-Expect the unexpected.

Once a Week post.

So I've kind of forgotten about this blog, whoops! So my goal now is to have a post up about every week.

So starting next week I'll get up a long over do bat-rep of the Infinity Join or Die tourney I played in.

Also if my followers do read my blog. Please post in the comments section on how I can get more people to come to my blog.

Join or Die Infinity Tourney

Well I played in a fun tourney this weekend and almost came out the winner. It had a lot of good moments in it. This tourney was a little different then others because after you play you first game you opponent becomes you partner and then you play a 2v2 game then a 4v4 game. Whoever is undefeated is the leader during the last game.

I was playing a very "docile" list or that's what the TO said compared to the others.

I love Nagas!

Got on a quick game earlier this week and I can say Nagas are some fine troops or I'm just getting better with them.

We played a 200 pt. game. I was proxing an Accont. Shock Army and my opponent was playing straight up Haqq. I can tell you right now my poor Assault Guard just can't seem to get a break as he died to a Speculo Killer last time and now to a Fiday, poor guy. However I was running two Nagas w/combi rifles and anti-personnel mines and each was positioned on my flanks. The first one that had the perfect chance to take out the Lasiq was the first to be activated and he did he job expertly and got a bonus for also taking out a Ghulam w/ a panzerfaust. I forgot my opponent had a Doc and tryed to heal the Lasiq but instead just killed her. The other Naga also proved to be very effective as he was tasked with holding down the other flank. He started out camo and prone (the room had windows and I didn't want the Lasiq to get a lucky shoot on him) in the third floor of a building. When he chance came he out of camo and popped a Odalisq and a Ghulam. He kiled the Odalisq but got wounded in the process but he had V: Dogged so he wasn't down yet. That Ghulam that survived last time moved out of line of sight so I moved the Naga out of the room, down some stairs, and back in LOS of the Ghulam. This time the Ghulam wasn't so lucky. The Naga died soon after that as I decided to drop on a AD troop but that didn't go as planned...

New Infinity Models!

Yeah you heard that right new Infinity models are up.

I'm a Aleph player so I'm happy to see the Spitfire Myrm but man that Zouaves and Jotum are killing it!

WHY!?

So my Asura w/Spitfire decided she would fall apart for the fifth time and I'm over it! So she gets to be my test subject for battle marks like scars, scratches, and bullet marks. Plus I'm picking up one new, already assembled, from a local.

Aleph Part 1.5

Marut: What can I say! She's just a beast of a TAG. This is the only TAG in Aleph's arsenal but it's probably the only one they need. The Marut comes hitting like a tone of bricks with CC 18 BS 15 PH 17 WIP 15 ARM 8 BTS -9 STR 3. You can only take one but that's all you'll really need. Now she comes in two options: The Lt. with Multi HMG/ Heavy Flamethrower or Regular with Multi HMG/ HGL. I would suggest taking her as your Lt. for others reasons but one would have to be Strategos L3. This little niffty ability allows you to make your opponent (bearing he doesn't have a Lt. with Strategos L2 or 3) to deploy all his models on to the table. But Strategos doesn't do just that it also allows you to hold back 2 models instead of just one as well giving you the ability to use your Lt. order on anyone in your list.

Now she's not the only TAG with this ability, the Avatar has it as well when a Lt., but what other TAG has a MSV2. What was that? Yeah, she's the only TAG with that. This allows you to punish anything trying to use camo or things like ODD or mimetism. Match that up with BS 15 and the Multi HMG and you can put a world of hurt on a lot of stuff. She's also a tough nut to crack as well with ARM 8 and STR 3 this means the other guy is going to send his hard hitting stuff after the Marut, so be prepared. The Marut isn't without its drawback either. The Major one would have to be how much see costs and it's a lot (122 for Lt. and 126 for Regular) plus she takes up 3 SWC as well.

Naga: The first type of skirmishers Aleph as has access to. These guys come in with some fairly even stats with CC 13 BS 12 PH 12 WIP 14 ARM 1 BTS 0 AVA 2. Now these your aggressive raiders and there abilities show for that with dogged and camo. These guys also come with a crap load of options: Combi, Anti personal mines, Combi, mono mines (nasty little things), Multi Sniper Rifle, (Minelayer) Boarding Shotgun, Anti personal mines, Hacker. All these option make the Naga very versatile as it can be your combat hacker, board controler, or general harassment or LI killing model.

I would like to say don't be afraid to be aggressive with these guys! There pretty much built for getting into your opponents face and give him a new makeover. With dogged there's new worries of a lucky hit taking out your Naga but you have to keep pumping orders into him to keep him alive. So you better make who ever hit your Naga pay and maybe others if you have some orders left. With camo you can also get the jump on people but watch out for MSV carrying models. They can also be great support units as well especially the Multi Sniper Rifle version  plus she makes a nasty surprise when she fist pops out of camo. Now the downsides would have to be the low armor but sticking to cover should help cover that also there not the greatest on your reactive turn since if they get hit they can't use their dogged (active phase only) ability.

Told ya I'd be back.

After a break (6 months) I have returned!

Now on to some infinity business here. I'm plan on attending a tournament coming up in the last part of March but I can't decide on what list I should take.

This list however I have not used before so I'll have to learn as I go. I like this list because it has a lot of threats in it. Also the Doc might see a lot of action depending on what happens. Also I have a little insurance plan in place in case my Lt. get knocked out and that takes the form of the Mrym Officer. The Myrm officer is also carrying around zero-v smoke grenades so suck on that MSVs!
